About 805 Dentistry
Picture a busy Tuesday morning: a parent is juggling a child's checkup, a nagging jaw ache that has been waking them up at night, and a spouse who keeps putting off a cracked tooth. Too often, that means three different offices, three sets of paperwork, and three trips across the Conejo Valley. At 805 Dentistry in Thousand Oaks, we built our practice so families don't have to split their care that way. Under the leadership of Dr. Dar Radfar, DDS, we aim to be a true one-stop shop for the whole family's dental needs, from a first cleaning to complex treatment.
A question we hear often is, "Can one office really handle everything my family needs?" Our answer starts with how we're organized. We are a general, family, and cosmetic dental practice at heart, and we see children and adults of all ages. Alongside our general dentist, our office includes board-certified specialists in endodontics, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial radiology, and dental anesthesiology. That means root canal retreatments, gum grafting, dental implants, CBCT imaging, and sedation can often happen under the same roof where you get your routine exams.
We also keep an on-site dental lab, which supports our work on crowns, bridges, veneers, and other restorations. Our philosophy is simple: when your care team works side by side, communication stays clear, and you spend less time coordinating between offices. Many of our specialty services also accept patients without a referral, so you can come to us directly when you have a concern.
Another common question is, "Why does a family dentist focus on sleep and jaw problems?" The answer is that these issues affect so many people, and they often go unrecognized. We have a strong focus on sleep apnea treatment and TMJ/TMD therapy, and we treat a wide range of related concerns, including jaw clicking, locking, or limited movement, jaw-related headaches, chronic facial pain, and persistent pain with no identified dental cause.
For these patients, our imaging capabilities make a real difference. Our board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist evaluates TMJ imaging and provides 2D and 3D scans, including CBCT. When a patient arrives frustrated after months of unexplained discomfort, we can look carefully at the structures involved and talk through options such as therapy or night mouth guards, all within our practice.
What to Expect When You Visit Us
Many new patients, especially those with dental anxiety, want to know what a visit will actually feel like. We understand that worry, and we offer several levels of comfort. Our board-certified dental anesthesiologist provides nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia, so patients who have avoided the dentist for years have a gentler way back into care. For our younger patients, ages 4 to 14 in our pediatric dentistry office, parents are welcome to stay in the treatment room.
Here is what our patients can generally expect:
- Care for all ages, from fluoride treatments and sealants for kids to dentures and implants for adults
- Emergency appointments, including same-day emergency visits through our endodontic office for cracked teeth and traumatic dental injuries
- Sedation options for anxious patients or longer procedures
- Flexible payment, including acceptance of all major PPO insurance plans, self-pay patients, and available financing
We believe a good visit is one where you leave understanding your options. Whether you're considering clear aligners, traditional metal braces, teeth whitening, or a full smile makeover with Digital Smile Design, we take time to explain the process and what it involves before any decision is made.
Serving Families Across the 805
Our name reflects our roots. We're proud to care for patients throughout the region, including Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Calabasas, West Hills, and Woodland Hills. Many families drive in from neighboring cities because they value having general, cosmetic, and specialty care coordinated in one place.
Our connection to the community also extends to fellow dental professionals. Our radiologist provides consultations to outside dental practices, interprets scans submitted by other providers, and offers urgent radiology interpretations. Our oral pathology services accept biopsy specimens and digital clinical images from outside providers and offer second-opinion pathology reviews. Our dental anesthesiologist even travels to other dental offices. We see this collaboration as part of keeping our whole local community healthier.
How We Make Care Feel Different
Ultimately, what sets a visit here apart is continuity. If a routine exam reveals gum disease, our board-certified periodontist can guide treatment such as scaling and root planing or periodontal maintenance. If a tooth needs to be replaced, we can plan implants, implant-supported bridges, or full-arch options like All-on-4 and All-on-6. If an oral lesion raises concern, we perform oral cancer screenings and in-office biopsies. Each step builds on the last, with your history already familiar to our team.
We also welcome patients in transition. If you started orthodontic treatment elsewhere, we accept orthodontic transfer patients and provide retainers for patients treated at other offices. If you're new to the area or simply ready for a fresh start, we'd be glad to help you and your family find a dental home that grows with you, one visit at a time.
