Implant-Supported Bridges in Camarillo

When two or three teeth in a row are missing, the gap affects more than your smile. Chewing shifts to one side, nearby teeth can start to drift, and a removable partial may feel loose at the worst moments. An implant-supported bridge fills that space with a fixed row of replacement teeth anchored to dental implants rather than to your natural teeth. At 805 Dentistry, we help patients from Camarillo and across Ventura County restore those gaps with careful planning and care coordinated under one roof.
An implant-supported bridge is a restoration made of several connected artificial teeth, held in place by dental implants placed in the jawbone. A traditional bridge relies on crowns cemented over the healthy teeth on either side of a gap. An implant bridge rests on the implants instead, so neighboring teeth don't need to be reshaped to support it. Two implants can often carry a bridge spanning three or more teeth. This lets us replace a longer stretch of missing teeth without placing an implant for every single tooth.
Patients come to us for this treatment for many reasons. Some lost several adjacent teeth to gum disease or decay. Others have an aging traditional bridge that needs replacing, or a partial denture they are tired of taking in and out. Some need neighboring teeth extracted and want a fixed solution once healing is complete. Because our office offers extractions, bone grafting, implant placement, and bridges, we can plan each of these situations as one continuous course of care.
Many Camarillo patients choose to make the drive to our Thousand Oaks office because we bring several areas of expertise together in one place. Our team includes a board-certified periodontist who places dental implants and provides ongoing implant maintenance. We also have a board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist who offers CBCT and 3D imaging. Having these specialists in the same office means fewer separate appointments at different locations.
Our on-site dental lab is another practical advantage. Because the lab is part of our practice, our clinical team and lab can communicate directly about fit, shape, and shade as your bridge is made. Dr. Dar Radfar and our team lead 805 Dentistry as a family practice that aims to be a one-stop shop, and implant care is a natural part of that approach.
Am I a good candidate for an implant-supported bridge?
You may be a good candidate if you are missing several teeth in a row and have enough healthy jawbone and gum tissue to support implants. We confirm this during a consultation that includes an exam and CBCT imaging. These detailed 3D scans let us evaluate bone volume, nerve position, and sinus location before we recommend anything.
If the bone has thinned after tooth loss, that doesn't automatically rule you out. We offer bone grafting and, for upper back teeth near the sinuses, sinus lift surgery to help build a stronger foundation. If gum disease is present, we treat it first with options such as scaling and root planing or periodontal therapy. Implants do best in a healthy mouth.
What happens during the treatment process?
Treatment happens in stages, and we walk you through each one before it begins. A typical sequence looks like this:
- Consultation and imaging: an exam, CBCT scan, and discussion of your goals and options
- Preparatory care: any needed extractions, gum treatment, or bone grafting
- Implant placement: our periodontist places the implants where they will best support the bridge
- Healing: the implants bond with the jawbone over time
- Bridge fabrication and placement: your custom bridge is made and secured to the implants
Many patients feel nervous about surgery, so comfort is part of our planning. Our board-certified dental anesthesiologist offers nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. These options are especially helpful for patients with dental anxiety. We'll help you decide which option fits your procedure and health history.
How do I care for my bridge, and how can I pay for it?
You care for an implant-supported bridge much like natural teeth: brush twice daily, clean carefully under and around the bridge, and keep your regular checkups. The implants can't decay, but the surrounding gums can still become inflamed. That's why our office provides implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance to keep the tissue around your implants healthy. If you grind your teeth, we may recommend a night guard to help protect your restoration.
On cost, we accept all major PPO insurance plans and welcome self-pay patients. We also offer financing, which can make staged treatment easier to manage. After reviewing your treatment plan, our team will go over your estimated costs and payment options with you. If you live in Camarillo and are ready to talk about replacing missing teeth, we'd be glad to schedule your consultation.
