All-on-X Dental Implants

Replace a full arch of teeth with our All-on-4 or All-on-6 implants, matched to your bone and bite.

All-on-X Dental Implants

A full arch of replacement teeth can be held in place by as few as four dental implants, which is the idea behind All-on-X. Instead of placing one implant for every missing tooth, we anchor a complete fixed bridge to a small number of strategically placed implants in the upper jaw, the lower jaw, or both. At 805 Dentistry in Thousand Oaks, we offer this treatment for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, whose remaining teeth are failing, or who are tired of dentures that slip and shift.

All-on-X is a full-arch tooth replacement method. The "X" stands for the number of implants used to support the new teeth, and we tailor that number to each patient. The two variations we offer are All-on-4, which uses four implants per arch, and All-on-6, which uses six. In both, the implants act as artificial roots, and a fixed arch of teeth is attached to them. You don't remove these teeth at night the way you would with traditional dentures.

This approach can help a wide range of people. Some patients have worn complete dentures for years and want something more secure. Others have several damaged or decayed teeth that would need extensive individual work. And some have lost teeth to advanced gum disease. Because our team includes a board-certified periodontist who places dental implants, we can look at your gums, bone, and overall oral health together when we recommend a path forward.

Choosing between All-on-4 and All-on-6 usually comes down to your jawbone, your bite, and your goals. All-on-4 places four implants, often angled to make good use of the available bone. It is frequently considered for patients who have experienced some bone loss and want to avoid more extensive preparation. All-on-6 adds two more implants. This spreads the biting forces across more support points, which can suit patients who have enough bone volume to accommodate them.

Neither option is automatically better. The right choice depends on what we find during your evaluation. In some cases, preparatory procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lift surgery may be recommended to create a stronger foundation, and we offer both here. We will walk you through the reasoning behind any recommendation so you can make an informed decision.

What happens at my first visit and during treatment?

Your first visit is a thorough evaluation and an honest conversation about your options. We use CBCT imaging, a 3D scan that shows your jawbone, nerves, and sinuses in detail, and our board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist can help interpret those images. That information guides where implants can be placed and how many your arch can support.

During your consultation, it helps to share:

  • Any medical conditions and medications you take
  • How long teeth have been missing or how long you've worn dentures
  • Whether you have dental anxiety or past difficult experiences
  • What matters most to you, such as appearance, chewing comfort, or stability

On treatment day, comfort is a priority. We have a board-certified dental anesthesiologist on staff and offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia, so anxious patients have real choices. If any failing teeth need to come out, we can handle simple and surgical extractions as part of your plan. Our on-site dental lab also lets us coordinate the fabrication of your restoration closely with the clinical side of your care.

How do I care for All-on-X implants afterward?

You care for All-on-X teeth with daily cleaning at home and regular professional visits. Even though implant teeth can't develop cavities, the gums and bone around the implants still need attention. Plaque buildup can lead to inflammation that threatens the support your new teeth rely on.

We'll show you how to clean around and beneath your bridge and recommend tools that fit your specific restoration. Our periodontal team also provides implant maintenance, so ongoing checkups and cleanings happen in the same office where your implants were placed. Many patients appreciate having one familiar team watching over their long-term results. Your diet, habits, and follow-up schedule will be discussed with you directly, since every recovery is a little different.

How can I pay for All-on-X dental implants?

We accept all major PPO insurance plans, welcome self-pay patients, and offer financing. Because coverage for full-arch treatment varies from plan to plan, we'll help you understand what your insurance may contribute before you commit to anything.

Financing can make it easier to move forward with a comprehensive treatment like this one by spreading the cost over time. Once we've designed your plan, we'll review the costs with you clearly so there are no surprises.

How do I get started?

Getting started begins with a consultation at our Thousand Oaks office. We welcome patients from Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Ventura, Oxnard, and nearby communities. Dr. Dar Radfar and our team would be glad to meet you, answer your questions, and help you decide whether All-on-4 or All-on-6 is right for you. Call or visit us to schedule your appointment, and let's start planning your new smile together.
