Maybe you've worn a denture for years and you're tired of adhesives, slipping, and avoiding certain foods. Or perhaps several of your teeth are failing at once, and repairing them one by one no longer makes sense. These are the moments when patients from Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Westlake Village, and nearby communities start asking about full mouth dental implants. Our goal is to help you understand this option clearly, so you can decide whether it fits your health, your comfort, and your plans.

Full mouth dental implants replace an entire arch of teeth, or both arches, using a small number of implants placed in the jawbone. Those implants act as anchors for a full set of replacement teeth. Rather than placing one implant for every missing tooth, approaches such as All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X use strategically positioned implants to support a complete arch. Depending on your needs, the teeth may be fixed in place, or they may be an implant-supported denture that snaps in and out.

This treatment can help people in a wide range of situations. Some of the patients we see include:

  • Long-time denture wearers who want a more secure fit
  • Patients with many decayed, broken, or loose teeth that can no longer be reliably restored
  • People who have lost teeth to gum disease
  • Adults who have already lost most or all of their teeth in one or both jaws

Because our practice brings several dental disciplines under one roof, we can often handle the full path of care here. That includes extractions, gum treatment, and the final teeth, so you aren't sent from office to office along the way.

Careful planning matters more than anything else in full mouth treatment. It starts with imaging. Our office provides CBCT imaging and 2D and 3D dental imaging, and we have a board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist on staff. Three-dimensional scans show bone volume, nerve positions, and sinus anatomy, so we can see where implants can be placed safely. Our board-certified periodontist places dental implants and also treats the gums and supporting bone that keep those implants healthy.

Some patients need preparatory work before implants can go in. If the jawbone has thinned after tooth loss, bone grafting may be recommended. For upper back teeth, sinus lift surgery can create room for implants. Failing teeth may need simple or surgical extractions, and active gum disease is treated first. We'll walk you through which of these steps apply to you, and why, before treatment begins.

Will I be comfortable during the procedure?

Yes. Your comfort is a central part of our plan, and we offer several levels of sedation to support it. Options include nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. These are provided with the involvement of our board-certified dental anesthesiologist.

Many people considering full mouth implants have put off care because of dental anxiety, and we understand that completely. During your consultation, we'll talk through your concerns and medical history. Then we'll recommend the sedation approach that fits the scope of your procedure and how you feel about treatment.

How do I care for full mouth implants afterward?

Implant teeth need daily cleaning and regular professional care, much like natural teeth. Implants can't develop cavities, but the gums and bone around them can still become inflamed if plaque builds up. At home, we'll show you how to clean around and beneath your new teeth, along with the tools that make it easier.

In our office, we provide implant maintenance and periodontal maintenance visits to monitor the tissues supporting your implants. Having an on-site dental lab also helps when adjustments or repairs to your teeth are needed. Results depend on your health, your habits, and keeping up with follow-up care, so we'll stay closely involved long after your teeth are placed.

How can I pay for full mouth dental implants?

We accept all major PPO insurance plans, welcome self-pay patients, and offer financing. Full mouth treatment is a significant investment, and the cost depends on how many implants you need, whether grafting or extractions are involved, and the type of teeth you choose. That's why we provide pricing only after a thorough evaluation.

Once your plan is set, our team will review your estimated costs and check your insurance benefits. If financing would help, we'll explain the available options so you can move forward on a timeline that works for you.

How do I get started?

The first step is a consultation with our team. Led by Dr. Dar Radfar, 805 Dentistry is a family and cosmetic practice in Thousand Oaks, serving neighbors from Newbury Park, Camarillo, Moorpark, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and beyond. We'll examine your mouth, review your imaging, and answer every question you bring.

If you're ready to stop working around your teeth and start exploring a lasting plan, we'd be glad to meet you. Call our office or request an appointment today, and let's talk about what full mouth dental implants could mean for you.
