Whether you lost a tooth to an accident, had one extracted after a deep infection, or have been living with gaps for years, a missing tooth affects more than your smile. It can change how you chew, how you speak, and how confident you feel in a conversation. At 805 Dentistry in Thousand Oaks, we help patients of all ages find a tooth replacement option that fits their mouth, their health, and their life. We start by listening to what matters most to you.
Tooth replacement is the process of filling the space left by one or more missing teeth with a restoration that looks and functions like a natural tooth. The right approach depends on how many teeth are missing, where they are, and the health of the surrounding gums and bone. In our office, options include dental implants, bridges, implant-supported bridges, partial dentures, complete dentures, and implant-supported or snap-in dentures. For patients missing most or all of their teeth, we also offer full arch solutions such as All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X dental implants.
This care helps a wide range of people. A patient missing a single front tooth may want a natural-looking implant crown. Someone missing several teeth on one side might be well served by a bridge or partial denture. A patient who has worn loose dentures for years may want the stability of implants that keep the denture firmly in place. Our goal is to match the solution to the situation rather than steer everyone toward the same treatment.
Because we describe ourselves as a one-stop shop for the whole family's dental care, much of your treatment can happen under one roof. We have an on-site dental lab and offer 2D and 3D dental imaging, including CBCT imaging, which gives us a detailed view of your jawbone and nearby structures as we plan your care. Our team also includes a board-certified periodontist who places dental implants and provides implant maintenance.
If your jaw needs more support before an implant can be placed, we offer bone grafting and sinus lift surgery. If a damaged tooth must come out first, we perform both simple and surgical extractions. Patients who feel nervous about dental work can talk with us about sedation. Our board-certified dental anesthesiologist offers nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia.
Am I a good candidate for tooth replacement?
Most people with missing teeth are candidates for some form of tooth replacement. The best option for you depends on several factors we review during your visit. These include the health of your gums, the amount of bone in your jaw, your overall oral health, and your goals for appearance and function.
Healthy gums matter because they support any restoration. If we find signs of gum disease, we can address it first with treatments such as scaling and root planing or periodontal care. For implant candidates, bone volume is especially important. Our imaging helps us see whether grafting might be needed. We will walk you through what we find and explain your choices in plain terms so you can make an informed decision.
How do I care for my replacement teeth, and what results can I expect?
Caring for replacement teeth looks a lot like caring for natural ones: daily brushing, cleaning between teeth, and regular dental visits. The specifics depend on the restoration you choose. Implants and implant-supported bridges benefit from careful cleaning around the gumline. Removable dentures need daily cleaning outside the mouth.
Some aftercare habits help any type of restoration last:
- Keep up with routine exams and cleanings so we can monitor your restoration and gums
- Ask us about implant maintenance visits if you have implants
- Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, since grinding can stress restorations
- Let us know right away if something feels loose, sore, or different when you bite
With good care, patients often find they can eat more comfortably and smile with more confidence. Because every mouth is different, we will talk with you about what to realistically expect from your specific treatment.
How can I pay for tooth replacement?
We accept all major PPO insurance plans, and we welcome self-pay patients as well. Coverage for tooth replacement varies from plan to plan, so our team is happy to help you understand your benefits before treatment begins.
We also offer financing, which can make larger treatments like implants or full arch restorations more manageable. We will review the costs of your treatment plan with you up front so there are no surprises.
How do I get started?
The first step is scheduling a consultation at our Thousand Oaks office. We welcome patients from Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Newbury Park, Oxnard, Ventura, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Calabasas, West Hills, Woodland Hills, and the surrounding area.
At that visit, Dr. Dar Radfar and our team will examine your mouth, review your imaging, and talk through the options that make sense for you. If you are ready to stop working around a missing tooth, call us to book your appointment. We look forward to helping you smile and chew comfortably again.
