Dental Implants in West Hills

A dental implant replaces the part of a missing tooth you never see: the root. A small post is placed in the jawbone, and once it is ready, a crown, bridge, or denture is attached on top. That anchored foundation is what separates implants from other tooth replacement options. Many of our patients from West Hills come to us with a single gap, a loose partial, or a denture that shifts when they eat. At 805 Dentistry, our team plans and places implants under one roof. We welcome West Hills patients who want the whole process handled by one coordinated team.
Implants can replace one tooth, several teeth, or a full arch, depending on what you need. A single implant topped with a crown can fill one gap without reshaping the neighboring teeth, which a traditional bridge would require. When several teeth in a row are missing, an implant-supported bridge can rest on a few implants rather than needing one implant for every tooth.
For patients missing most or all of their teeth in an arch, we offer full arch options, including All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X dental implants. We also offer implant-supported dentures and snap-in dentures. These give a denture something secure to hold onto, so it stays in place instead of relying on suction or adhesive alone. During your consultation, we walk through which approach fits your mouth, your goals, and your budget.
Implants at our office are placed by our board-certified periodontist, a specialist in the gums and the bone that supports your teeth. Healthy gums and bone are central to a stable implant. Because periodontics is part of our practice, the same team that evaluates your gum health can place your implant and provide ongoing implant maintenance afterward.
We also offer CBCT imaging, a 3D scan that shows bone height, width, and nearby structures in detail. A board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist is on staff, and we have an on-site dental lab. For West Hills patients, this means planning, surgery, and restoration happen in one place instead of across several offices. Because we see children and adults, your family can receive their routine care here too.
Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
Many adults with one or more missing teeth are candidates, and an exam with imaging is how we confirm it. We look at the amount and quality of your jawbone, the health of your gums, and the condition of your remaining teeth.
If you have lost bone, you aren't automatically ruled out. We perform bone grafting and sinus lift surgery to help build support where an implant needs it. If we find gum disease, we treat it first with care such as scaling and root planing or periodontal therapy, so the implant starts in a healthy environment. If a damaged tooth needs to come out before an implant can go in, we handle both simple and surgical extractions in our office.
What happens during the dental implant process?
Implant treatment takes place in stages, and the timeline depends on your situation. A typical path looks like this:
- Consultation and 3D imaging to evaluate your bone and plan where the implant will go
- Preparatory care, such as an extraction, bone graft, or gum treatment, if needed
- Implant placement, where the post is positioned in the jawbone
- Healing time, which allows the implant to become stable in the bone
- Final restoration, when your crown, bridge, or denture is attached
If dental visits make you anxious, tell us. We have a board-certified dental anesthesiologist on staff and offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Together we can choose the level of comfort that suits you and your procedure.
How do I care for implants, and how can I pay for them?
You care for implants much like natural teeth: brush twice a day, floss or clean carefully around the implant, and keep up with your regular checkups and cleanings. Implants can't get cavities, but the gums and bone around them still need attention. Our periodontist provides implant maintenance to help keep the surrounding tissues healthy over time.
For payment, we accept all major PPO insurance plans and welcome self-pay patients. Financing is also available for those who prefer to spread out the cost of treatment. Because every implant plan is different, we review your options and expected costs at your consultation, before any work begins.
