All-on-X Dental Implants in Ventura

All-on-X Dental Implants in Ventura

Maybe you've been patching the same failing teeth for years, or your denture slips every time you laugh at dinner. Many of the Ventura patients we see describe this point: their teeth, or a removable appliance, now affect what they eat and how they smile. All-on-X dental implants replace a full arch of teeth with a fixed bridge supported by implants. For many people in that situation, it is a practical next step.

All-on-X is a full-arch approach. Rather than placing one implant for every missing tooth, we place a set number of implants in the jaw. Those implants anchor a complete bridge of replacement teeth. The "X" stands for how many implants your arch needs. The two versions we offer are All-on-4 and All-on-6.

All-on-4 uses four implants per arch. It can suit patients who want a fixed solution with fewer implant sites. All-on-6 uses six implants per arch, spreading support across more points. It is often considered when the jaw can accommodate additional implants. We recommend one or the other only after studying your bone and bite. Neither is automatically better. The right choice depends on your anatomy and goals.

Patients come to us for full-arch implants for a few distinct reasons. Some have several failing or broken teeth and are tired of repeated repairs. Others have lost teeth to gum disease and need a dependable replacement. Many already wear complete dentures and want something that stays put instead of shifting or needing adhesive.

Because we also treat gum disease, extract teeth, and place bone grafts, we can often handle several of these issues within our own practice. That matters for Ventura patients who would rather not coordinate care across multiple offices. Patients who want a removable option can discuss implant-supported or snap-in dentures with us as an alternative.

What are the benefits of All-on-X compared with traditional dentures?

The main benefit is that the bridge is fixed to implants rather than resting on the gums. Day to day, patients often point to these differences:

  • A fixed bridge that you don't remove each night
  • Support anchored in the jaw instead of relying on suction or adhesive
  • One coordinated treatment that replaces an entire arch
  • A natural-looking smile designed with input from our on-site dental lab

That on-site lab is part of how we deliver care. It lets our team work closely on the design and fit of your bridge without sending every adjustment out of the office. We also use Digital Smile Design to plan how your new teeth will look before treatment begins.

Am I a good candidate for All-on-X implants?

You may be a candidate if you are missing most of the teeth in an arch, have teeth that can't be saved, or are unhappy with a denture. The deciding factor is usually the condition of your jawbone and gums. That is why we begin with a thorough evaluation.

We provide CBCT imaging and 3D dental imaging, and we have a board-certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist on staff. These scans show bone volume and structure in detail. If bone is limited, bone grafting or sinus lift surgery may make implant placement possible. Our board-certified periodontist places dental implants and treats gum disease that might otherwise complicate treatment.

What happens during the All-on-X process, and will I be comfortable?

The process moves from consultation and imaging to planning, any needed extractions or grafting, implant placement, and then delivery of your custom bridge. Your exact sequence depends on your situation, and we walk you through each step before starting.

Comfort is a common concern, especially for patients facing a larger procedure. Our team includes a board-certified dental anesthesiologist. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia, which can help patients with dental anxiety. We'll talk through which option fits your needs and health history.

How do I care for my implants, and how can I pay for treatment?

You'll care for your implant bridge with daily cleaning at home and regular professional visits. Our periodontics team provides implant maintenance to help keep the gums and implants around your bridge healthy. We'll show you how to clean under and around the bridge, and we'll schedule follow-up visits as needed.

On cost, we accept all major PPO insurance plans and welcome self-pay patients. Financing is also available, so you can discuss payment options during your consultation. Our office in Thousand Oaks, led by Dr. Dar Radfar, serves Ventura along with many neighboring communities. If you're in Ventura and considering full-arch implants, we're glad to evaluate your options with you.
